Last updated: 17 August 2026. This policy is provided in good faith and in plain English. It is not legal advice — it should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before being relied on.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to take your order, deliver it, answer your messages and keep the site working.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Payments go through PayPal. We never see or store your card details.
- Your delivery details are shared with our supplier and shipping network so your parcel can reach you.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your data at any time: support@pranknologia.shop.
Who we are
Pranknologia is an online shop operated by an individual sole trader (there is no registered company) based at Al Barsha South 2, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Our website is https://pranknologia.shop.
For anything in this policy — including access, correction, deletion or a complaint — contact us at support@pranknologia.shop. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
What we collect
Order and checkout details
When you place an order we collect your name, email address, delivery address, and any phone number or delivery notes you give us. We also keep a record of what you ordered, the amount, the currency (USD) and the order status.
Account data
If you create an account, we store your username, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash — we cannot read it), and your saved addresses and order history.
Newsletter
If you sign up to our newsletter (our signup forms run on WPForms), we store the email address you give us and the date you signed up.
Messages you send us
If you contact us — including a damage or returns claim — we keep your message and any photos or video you send, so we can handle the claim.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser user agent, the pages requested and the date and time. These are used for security, fraud prevention and diagnosing faults.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the shop to function: keeping your shopping cart, keeping you logged in, and remembering your session at checkout. WordPress and WooCommerce set these. If you leave a comment, WordPress may offer to save your name and email in a cookie for your convenience.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will not work properly without the necessary ones.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To take, fulfil and deliver your order, and to give support. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To keep records of sales and refunds. Legal basis: our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in keeping accurate business records.
- To send you our newsletter. Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or by emailing us.
- To secure the site, prevent fraud and fix faults. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce legal effects for you.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the parties we need to in order to run the shop:
- PayPal — processes your payment. You give your payment details directly to PayPal under their own privacy policy; we receive only confirmation that the payment succeeded and the associated order details. We do not store card numbers.
- Our supplier and shipping network — our products are shipped through a China-based supplier network. Your name, delivery address and contact details are passed to them and to the carriers so your order can be shipped and tracked.
- Email delivery — order confirmations, account emails and replies are sent through our email delivery service (FluentSMTP), which handles the message and your email address in transit.
- Our website host — stores the site and its database, including the data above.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We may disclose data if we are legally required to do so.
International transfers
We operate from the United Arab Emirates and ship to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the UAE. Fulfilment involves a supplier network in China. This means your order and delivery details will be transferred outside your own country, including outside the UK, the EEA, Canada and Australia. We share only the minimum needed to deliver your order, and we ask our providers to keep it confidential and use it only for that purpose. This includes transfers outside the UK and the EEA. Where your data leaves the UK or the EEA, we take steps to ensure it continues to be protected to a comparable standard, and we share only what is needed to get your order to you.
How long we keep it
- Order records: kept for as long as needed to complete the order and handle any claim, and then for our business and tax records. We keep them for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, and they are then deleted or anonymised.
- Account data: kept while your account is open. Delete your account or ask us and we will remove it, apart from records we must keep for the reason above.
- Newsletter email: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Support and claim messages: kept while the claim is open and for a reasonable period afterwards in case it is reopened.
- Server logs: kept for a short period for security and diagnostics, then overwritten by our host.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored as hashes rather than as text, and access to the store’s admin area is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and we will tell you and the relevant regulator if we become aware of a breach that requires it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your data, where we are not required to keep it.
- Object to or restrict how we use it, including opting out of marketing at any time.
- Receive it in a portable format where that right applies to you.
Email support@pranknologia.shop. We will respond as quickly as we can and, where the law sets a deadline, within it. We may need to confirm your identity first so we do not hand your data to someone else.
United Kingdom
If you are in the UK, we handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and the rights above are your statutory rights. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we have handled your data wrongly. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Australia
If you are in Australia, we handle your data consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. You can ask for access to and correction of your personal information as described above. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can refer it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Canada
If you are in Canada, we handle your data consistently with PIPEDA (the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). We collect personal information for the purposes described above, with your knowledge and consent, and you may access and correct it by contacting us. Unresolved complaints can be taken to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
United Arab Emirates
We are based in the UAE and handle personal data consistently with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). You have rights of access, correction, erasure and objection as set out above, and you may raise a complaint with us or with the UAE Data Office.
United States
We do not sell personal information. If you live in a US state with its own privacy law (for example California), you may have rights to know what we collect, to request deletion, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Email us and we will handle your request in the same way as any other.
Children
Our shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
